UPDATE: A man who drowned in a Bozeman creek Tuesday evening has been identified.
Kevin Guptill, 58, of Bozeman was found deceased at around 6 p.m. Tuesday by a 13-year-old boy.
A medical examination at the state crime lab in Missoula determined Guptill's cause of death was drowning, according to a news release from the Gallatin County Coroner's Office.
BOZEMAN - A man whose body found in Bozeman Creek Tuesday evening was a 58-year-old Bozeman resident, police said.
There were no signs of foul play at the scene, Captain Steve Crawford said. The man could have had a medical condition but there is nothing to point towards a criminal act at this point, Crawford said.
The man's identity is not yet being released.
The body was taken to the state crime lab in Missoula for an autopsy this afternoon.
Investigators believe the body was there probably not much more or less than 24 hours, Crawford said.
At this point, investigators are just trying to back-track the man's activities to determine what occurred, Crawford said.
The body was discovered face-down in the creek just after 6 p.m. by a 13-year-old boy.
