WARM SPRINGS - Authorities say a 26-year-old Missoula woman died and two other people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash that happened Saturday on Interstate 90 near Warm Springs.
Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Tim Wyckoff says Kayla Williams, 26, of Missoula was driving east in a Honda Fit when she swerved to miss tire debris that flew up onto her windshield. She over-corrected and rolled through the median into the westbound lane, where her vehicle hit a Chevy Equinox.
The woman, who was not wearing a seat-belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Equinox, a man from Germany, was air-lifted to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula. His female passenger, also from Germany, was treated at a nearby hospital and later released.
The Montana Highway Patrol is still investigating the wreck.
