Bozeman Police Chief Ron Price confirms that the suspected shooter has been taken into custody and is currently in the Gallatin County Detention Center.
The suspect was detained by witnesses at the early morning party. Witnesses are currently being interviewed.
Bozeman detectives are currently at scene collecting evidence under lights provided by law enforcement's tactical truck.
The last shooting to take place in Bozeman was Aug. 25, when 52-year-old John David Hodges, shot a man. That incident took place in a transient camp along Frontage Road near the 19th overpass.
FIRST REPORT: Around 4 a.m. Bozeman Police, MSU police and Gallatin County Sheriff departments responded to a reported shooting on Monroe Street and North Ferguson Ave.
Bozeman Police Chief Ron Price confirmed to KBZK that 3 people were shot and transported to Bozeman Deaconess Hospital with significant injuries, one with what he called "life-threatening injuries." The accused shooter was taken into custody after being contained by witnesses.
According to Price, the incident happened at a party or gathering this morning where a number of young people in their mid-to-early 20s were gathered.
Detectives and other law enforcement are securing the scene and are gathering evidence.
