UPDATE: 4/20/13, 9:40 p.m. - High winds pushed the Jefferson Acres fire to nearly 70 acres in size.
That fire is now estimated to be 100 acres but crews have the fire fully contained and are now mopping up.
The fire did jump the Jefferson river but fortunately only spread about 2 acres before crews were able to get a handle on it. Watch our 10 p.m. broadcast for the latest news.
UPDATE: 4/20/13, 2:40 p.m. - The fire outside the small town of Silver Star is now estimated at 50-70 acres. Fire officials say the fire resulted from a controlled burn that got out of control.
Twenty personnel from Madison County are now fighting the blaze dubbed "Jefferson Acres Fire" by officials.
Our reporter says there are homes in the area, but no evacuations have been issued at this time and no structures are threatened.
A firefighting helicopter has been placed on standby, but winds in the area have prevented its use at this time.
