UPDATE: Whitehall woman killed in crash identified

A Whitehall woman is dead after suffering injuries she endured when her vehicle struck a semi-truck head-on Wednesday afternoon.
Graceanne Brents, 71, was traveling north on Highway 55 South, near Whitehall. According to the Montana Highway Patrol, Brents drifted to the right-hand side of the road. Brents attempted to overcorrect. Her vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a semi-truck. The vehicle Brents was driving caught fire, according to Montana Highway Patrol.
A passing driver on the highway saw the accident and stopped to remove Brents from her blazing vehicle. Jefferson County Police Department responded to the accident just after 1:30 p.m.
An ambulance started to transport Brents. She died of internal injuries in the ambulance. The semi-truck driver had minor injuries to his legs, according Montana Highway Patrol.
