THREE FORKS - Firefighters continue to battle the Copper City Fire burning north of Three Forks.
The blaze has scorched 150 acres and is 40% contained. It sparked Sunday around 5 p.m. Officials say the fire may have been started by gunfire.
Approximately 25 firefighters and seven engines are on scene and crews spent Monday morning working the east flank. They are also being assisted by a DNRC helicopter making water drops. The fire is largely burning in grass, juniper and sage brush.
The U.S. Forest Service has taken over command of the fire. There are no structures threatened at this time.
