The Butte-Silver Bow Coroner's office identified the victims in Friday morning's deadly roll-over crash near Ramsay as Robert Tate, 38, and Ava Newman-Tate, 60, both of Washington.
The mother and son died at the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Interstate -90 about 6:50 a.m. when Robert Tate lost control of the 2002 Suzuki Vitara on the slick roadway a few miles west of Butte. The vehicle went into the median and rolled. His mother, who wasn't wearing a seatbelt in the passenger seat, was ejected. The driver was wearing a seatbelt and died after being partially ejected.
Robert Tate's 20-year-old daughter was wearing a seatbelt in the backseat and survived with minor injuries.
