Strong west to southwest flow aloft and a weak shortwave disturbance is producing a little wet weather across SW Montana this afternoon.
This disturbance will bring only a brief shower or thunderstorm and should be gone by early evening. A few small thunderstorms have been strong in the Sheridan area with pea size hail, wind gusts over 30 mph and brief heavy rain.
MDEQ is reporting moderate to unhealthy for groups air quality with forest fire smoke throughout central and northern Montana, however, with the rainfall in our region air quality remains good here in SW Montana. See attached graphic.
The current weather pattern will continue to play out for another couple of days so look for more of the same. I'll have a complete weekend forecast for you tonight at 5:30pm and 10pm until then watch my afternoon video on demand forecast.
