GREAT FALLS - A woman was taken to Benefis Hospital after reportedly falling from the Zipper ride at the Montana State Fair.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the Montana ExpoPark shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday where witnessed said that the woman fell approximately 8 to 10 feet from the Zipper ride and landed on her head.
Initial reports indicate the woman was unconscious.
There is no word yet on what caused the fall, but John Hanschen, president of the Mighty Thomas Carnival, said the accident happened during the unloading process.
He said the ride was not moving at the time.
The ride remained closed after the incident, but Hanschen said he expects to have it back open on Wednesday.
We do not have any information about the woman's condition or the extent of her injuries at this time.
